Jóvenes Investigadores (JI-SBE)

Young Researchers of the Spanish Biophysical Society (JI-SBE) has been created with the goal of fostering collaboration, exchanging ideas, and providing mutual support among young scientists who are starting out in the field of biophysics. Here you’ll find a space where you can share experiences, ask questions, propose activities, and collaborate on joint projects.

Premio JI-SBE a la mejor tesis de Biofísica 2025

Este premio tiene como objetivo reconocer la excelencia investigadora en el campo de la biofísica, demostrada a través del trabajo desarrollado en una tesis doctoral.

En la edición de este año, el premio incluye:

Además el segundo y tercer finalista recibirá un premio de 250 €.

Podrán participar todas las personas miembros de la SBE que hayan defendido su tesis doctoral en 2025 en el campo de la biofísica.

Para formalizar la candidatura, será necesario enviar la siguiente documentación a la dirección de correo electrónico ji@sbe.es :

  • Currículum vitae de la persona candidata.

  • Tesis doctoral completa.

  • Resumen de la tesis doctoral.

El plazo de participación queda abierto desde el 15 de diciembre de 2025 hasta el 15 de febrero de 2026. Toda la información detallada sobre el proceso de participación se encuentra disponible en las Bases del Premio JI-SBE a la mejor Tesis en Biofísica 2025.

2024 Best Thesis in Biophysics Awardees

We are thrilled to announce the “Best Thesis in Biophysics Awardee 2024”:

  • Inés Martínez Martín for her thesis work «Biochemical cues affecting titin physical properties relevant for the physiology of the heart«.

Also “Special mention” for the thesis works of Daniel Muñoz Reyes and Vega Miguel Ruano.

Past Events

Satellite Event – SBE Congress 2025

The Satellite Event of the XVIII International Congress of the SBE, organized by the Spanish Network of Young Biophysicists (Jóvenes Investigadores de la Sociedad de Biofísica de España, Ji-SBE), successfully took place in Madrid on June 23rd and 24th.

This first Ji-SBE meeting concluded with an excellent turnout and highly positive feedback from all attendees. The round table session, in particular, received outstanding interest and engagement, highlighting the value of open discussion among early-career researchers.

We’re thrilled with the enthusiasm shown and look forward to building on this momentum. Stay tuned—details about next year’s edition will be announced during the upcoming academic year!

2024 Best Thesis in Biophysics Award

Primer “Premio a la mejor tesis en biofísica 2024”,  dirigido a candidatos que hayan defendido su tesis durante el año 2024.

El premio incluye una dotación económica y la oportunidad de presentar durante el satélite del congreso de la SBE que tendrá lugar en junio del 2025 en Madrid.

Spanish Biophysics Week - BioΦsica 2025

Con motivo de la Semana de la Biofísica 2025, el viernes 28 de Marzo (2025) tuvo lugar BioΦsica, un evento online en el que jóvenes investigadores compartieron su pasión por la biofísica a través de charlas divulgativas.

Los graphical abstracts de las charlas, publicadas en Instagram y LinkedIn  permitiendo así conocer de antemano los contenidos y ponentes del evento.
